I have recently started to develop web sites using Wordpress. The amount of time it takes me to publish high quality web sites using wordpress as a CMS is amazing.
It used to take me hours, from creating comps in Photoshop, then taking the layout live, it was a time consuming process. Sometimes, clients are on a low budget, and they do not want to spend a bunch of money on custom sites. With wordpress, I can launch sites quickly and easily, giving a powerful tool to the client allowing them to update their site on their own. And if clients are willing to spend more money, then I will design a custom theme for them. Check out a few of my wordpress sites I recently launched using FREE themes on the internet. Santa Fe Homes with Views Santa Fe Real Estate - Fine Homes Santa Fe by Ann Brunson Santa Fe Wedding Photography --> This was a premium theme the photographer purchased, I installed it and customized it. If you have not given Wordpress a try, dont waste another minute, its as good as everyone says. Mix wordpress with a reseller web hosting account like hostgator.com, and you can create an unlimited number of web sites. |

Yeah I only use Wordpress. I can build a site with all the functionality I need, totally customized the way I want it in a day. That's so amazing to me. Until I find I can't do what I want with wordpress and its extensive plugins I'm sticking with that!

I have been using WP for the past 3 years and have never even looked at Drupal, Joomla or anything else. The recent 2.7 is the shiz-nit. i used to have over 10 WP blogs but it got to be much of a bear. So, since med school and family came along pared it all down to 2.

I've used Joomla, its pretty slick as well. Easy to install, and easy to setup. The one thing that it lacks in my opinion is the quality of its plugins.
With wordpress, you can use pretty much any plugin and they are well coded, supported and it does what it says it does. Joomla plugins it seems you never know what you are going to get. Just my experience. Haven't used Joomla in sometime, once I moved to Wordpress, I have not needed to try anything else. |

I've used WP in the past, and have recently just begun using it again. It is a good blogging software and I would really recommend it to anyone. They customisation and plug-in aspects are really appealing. I think it gives you more flexibility that many other similar software out there.

Any suggestions for an old ASP guy? I just started using WP and I like it. Would it be the best way to learn php and start building websites based on WP?
