Default Favorite CMS

Hi guys,

What is your favorite CMS. I am currently using Wordpress, Joomla and Drupal. My favorite one is probably Joomla.

Wordpress is my favorite, although Joomla looks very promising to me. I've heard a few bad things about Joomla's code though.

Even though Wordpress isn't really intended to be a content management system, that's why I use it for exclusively.

Any new or small site I'm setting up I do completely in Wordpress.

Hi Bill,

Do you use a CMS for all your sites. Are there no sites that you create with a HTML builder such as dreamweaver or xsitepro?

If you are a coder, you may like Joomla or Drupal. Drupal especially allows you to do many things that would be REALLY hard to code in wordpress. BUUUUUT, it will take a lot longer, and A LOT of work to do it.

Wordpress works out of the box, and is easy. Joomla just seems like a lot of work, for not much payoff above what Wordpress does.

I agree with you there. Once you get the hang of Joomla then the sky is the limit.

Arrow Re: Favorite CMS

Joomla is by far my favorite - I've built most of my websites with it.

If there's enough interest - I'll write up a quick "how to".

I like Joomla. I started out with 1.5 just over a year ago. There weren't very many extensions for Joomla 1.5 at that time. Now there are thousands. And their updates are frequent to Joomla 1.5 for security and usability.

For those that use Joomla, do any of you use datafeeds(.csv) for affiliate products on joomla? What is your favorite datafeed component/plugin for Joomla? Looking for a good one that doesn't make the products as articles. Prefer one that is more like a "store" A component, not article importer if you know what I mean. Most of the datafeeds I get are about 500-7500 items each, and from several merchants. Having 10,000, 50,000 or more products on a site is not unusual. That is why I don't want to use articles.

UPDATE:09-13-2009

Ok, have been messing around with wordpress for the last couple of months. I think I'm REALLY liking how easy it has become since I last used it. Really. Wordpress Vs Joomla (current versions) I think I like the ease of use of Wordpress. Saving me hours of reading and learning. Not that learning is bad, but "not thinking"(wordpress is very intuitive, simple to use) so much and banging out a website quickly, I think I'll be switching to wordpress. Dang-it Bill, you converted another user.

I would defiantly have to say Wordpress is my favourite CMS although I don't really use any CMS. I prefer creating my websites with DreamWeaver
