Contest Burner + Lead Magnet on the Front End?

Hi - I'm wanting to create a contest but not just for contest sake... I'd like to have the contest on the back end... so there's a lead magnet on the front (free report, free video, etc) and the contest is on the thank you page

"Thanks for your request... if you'd like to help me spread the word about this new AWESOME LEAD MAGNET you can win all sorts of cool prizes... details below."

Would this work? Anything I'm overlooking?

That would work well. I'd suggest you mention your prize in your lead magnet promo copy. Like: "Get this free report & a chance to win BLAH... Just enter your name and email to get started!"
