Contest Burner Advanced Tag Instructions

Display the Contest Links so users can promote the contest

• Insert [contest_links] in the Page or Post where you want the contest link displayed
  • This will insert a form where the user enters their Twitter username
  • submitting the form outputs a list of links
  • Only links from currently active contests are displayed
• Use [contest_links contest=default] to display links from the "default" contest ONLY
  • Replace default with the "contest_slug" of the contest you want displayed

Display the "Leader Board" to list the contest stats[list][*]Insert [contest_leaders] in the Post/Page where you want the stats displayed[*]Use parameters to customize the stats display [contest_leaders parm1=val1 parm2=val2 ...]

• valid parms are:
  • contest=CONTEST_SLUG
    • replace CONTEST_SLUG with the contest_slug of the contest you want displayed
  • limit=LIMIT
    • replace LIMIT with the max number of users you want displayed
    • [contest_leaders limit=10] to display the top ten, etc.
  • per_page=PER_PAGE
  • replace PER_PAGE with the number of users to display per page
  • if more than PER_PAGE users are in the stats then page links will be displayed and PER_PAGE users will be displayed on each page
  • min_points=MIN_POINTS
  • replace MIN_POINTS with the number of points a user must have to be included in the the stats page
  • [contest_leaders min_points=500] will only display users with 500 or more points
  • example:
  • [contest_leaders contest=default limit=50 per_page=10 min_points=200]
  • will display a max of 50 users each with at least 200 points from the default contest with 10 users listed per page
  • If only 30 users have 200 or more points, only the 30 with 200+ points will be displayed
  • If more than 50 have 200+ points, only the top 50 will be displayed

Hi Guys,
I'm getting ready to launch my first contest from our www.turningcreationsbychuck.com/BlankWood blog but would like to transfer the blog to it's own domain first. I have purchased blankwood.com but am not sure if I can just transfer the DNS to our hosting site since the subdirectory that I loaded the blog originally to set up a folder by that name already. Do I need to copy the blog elsewhere before transferring the domain and reload it afterwards? I'm a bit over my head.

I've launched my contest at Contest — Twiche Yourself. It seems as though most of what needs to be happening is happening.

However, I have seeded the Twitterstream with several tweets from accounts that I control, and only about half are showing up on the leader board.

I have the leaderboard set to: [contest_leaders limit=100 per_page=20], but can't get more than those showing now onto the board.

Please advise!

Can you send me some more details on exactly what is not included that you think should be. If there is a specific user that should have 10 points but only has 5, please send me the url to the tweets that you think they should have received credit for and the details of your ContestBurner settings including the start and end dates for the contest you are running.

I downloaded Contest Burner then immediately upgraded to Premium.

I've created (and started) a contest.

Everything appears to be working ("I think") with the exception of the displaying of the contest standings.
The page in question is located here:
Book Contest Internet Citadel

It currently states that "No points have been awarded for this contest"

I've enabled the periodic reporting of the results via Twitter. Those results show that there are 3 people in the running. These results are shown via Brian Kelly (IconEnterprises) on Twitter

So it would appear that the contestants are indeed being tracked and stored in the database. I've checked and re-checked the "publish" settings.

I've followed the video tutorials very closely and am at a loss in how to proceed with and/or fix this issue.

Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

I think the problem might be that the contest is not specified in the [contest_leaders] shortcode, check your page and make sure you have contest=contest_slug in the shortcode.

If you are not able to fix it by adding the contest, please you post the shortcode exactly as you have it in your page and post the contest_slug setting for your contest.

[contest_leaders contest="default"]

contest_slug = default

I tried using a different "named" contest_slug before deleting that contest and going back to try "default" for the very same reason ... there was no display of the contest_leaders on the page.

The other tag for the shortcode ([contest_links contest="default"]) seems to be working fine.

I got both directly from the 'Publish Contest' link via WP, per the instructions

I can't think of any other reason this would not display. I would like to work with you to get this fixed and I'll be contacting you directly via email to see what we can do.
