Link Redirects Outside of the Blog?

While testing my contest I find I can't redirect a link outside of the bog. For example, my test tweet is "Laugh Your A$$ Off at Uproar Entertainment! Today's hottest comedians on CD and DVD! http://www.uproarcomedyblog.com/tweet/Transmutator" which, of course, doesn't exist as when it is clicked on it goes to http://www.uproarcomedyblog.comwww.uproarcomedycd.com

Now, obviously, I can't complain because I am not exactly using CB for which it is intended. So, I'll have to figure out a work'around as my intent is to drive traffic to the main site not the blog. The work'around I am thinking witll be to create an htaccess redirect for all such pages or even a page with redirect code in it. Any recommendations?

I also noted that the "Today's ..." part shows up as "Today\'s ..." should I put a \' so that it shows up normally?

Looking for help on this one guys ... I've found also that the links are too long when I want to promote a particular post. I'm using permalinks for SEO purposes so a typical link is Margaret Smith, winner of the 9th Annual American Comedy award | Uproar Entertainment

Will you be considering the implementation of an URL shortener? Like Bit.Ly?

Once I understand that I can get it looked at as a bug.

For future development I have a plugin that will track, cloak & shorten URLs. It will work with ContestBurner & will allow you to link anywhere while also tracking your links. That's not ready yet, but keep your eye out. All members of WordPress Club or other coaching programs will be eligible to get this new plugin for no extra cost.

This isn't a bug but let's see ...

My Twitter name is "Transmutator" For the contest I am using "Uproariously, Insane Comedy Brawl Sweepstakes! Enter to WIN thousands in CASH & PRIZES!" as the standard Twitter message.

When I go to "get my links" the message that appears in Twitter is "Uproariously, Insane Comedy Brawl Sweepstakes! Enter to WIN thousands in CASH & PRIZES! http://www.uproarcomedyblog.com/brawl/Transmutator" which is, in this example, 125 characters long ... 50 characaters of it is the URL.

But ... since you are working on an URL shortening system this will be moot.

Anyway, I think CB is great and looking forward to advancements to keep making it even bigger and better.
