How To Notify Winner

OK, I've installed this and have figured out how to make it work. I was a little thrown off at first by what to do if someone doesn't have a Twitter name then realized that entering anything in that box "Unlocks" the links.

Now my question is "How Do You Notify The Winner" if they don't have a Twitter or YouTube name and they enter something else for a user name? Obviously you could make it so they check back when the contest ends but how many people are going to do that? Then how would you know it was really them if they contacted you to say the user name was there's?

The only solution I see is if someone doesn't have a Twitter/YouTube user name is that they enter their email address?

Does this make sense or am I totally missing something here?

Personally, I do not notify winners.

I have a contest rule that requires winners to have entered their name and email address into my opt-in form.

From there, I send out the newsletter every week reminding my subscribers to check the site for this week's winners.

I do not include the winners in the newsletter.

All prizes must be claimed within 30 days or forfeit.

I have had seven (7) contests so far, so if you would like to chat, send me a private message and we can talk on the phone or chat with Gtalk.

I agree with Strongcord on this. That is the best way to go about notifying your winners.

Additionally, once contact has been made via email regarding a winner,

...if that person won using a Twitter account that person must sent a Direct Message from that winning Twitter account to your Twitter account to verify ownership.
