I use GoDaddy primarily for my domain registrar. I do have a few names registered at NameCheap and one at DomainSite, but only because I have bought those from someone. I do like using GoDaddy. They have resonable rates and always have promo-codes for discounts.

Hey marketpacer,

Be careful of GoDaddy as my first ever experience in buying domain names was when I went and tried to buy 'myownname'.com

I went ok so this is pretty easy and then came back the next day only to find GoDaddy had bought it/reserved it for themself, they put it on a database and then sell the database to the highest bidder. Man was I MAD

From then I learnt the best registrar was dynadot.com.
These guys don't save the names to a database and then you can afford to go back a week later and will still be available. They also hav specials and don't hammer you with email promotions every day or every week, just once in a while.

I have hundreds with dynadot.com and wil contiue using their service!

I use several different domain registrars, but Godaddy is OK and they have decent prices. I wouldn't use Godaddy hosting though. I'll get someone to compile a list of good domain registrars and post it in here.

Godaddy works. It's ugly, slow, cludgy, and a pain to checkout fast, but it works.

Enom is better but not as cheap.

I currently using netfirms and is totally satisfied with them. The best thing is that they provide any domain for only $6.99 plus they also give free domain privacy.

Arrow Re: What domain registrar do you use?

I used Yahoo Small Business, DirectNic, eNom, GoDaddy, you name it I used it. I got tired of them raising the rates on me as soon as I moved all of my domains from one registrar to another.

Consequently, I became a GoDaddy reseller so I could give myself the rock bottom prices GoDaddy allows me to set it at. Right now it's $7.99 and that not only for registering but also renewing.

Low priced domains will get you to register you new domain names then jack the renewal prices up. I have the same price for new registrations and renewals. I'm not in it to make a profit but just enough to cover the annual reseller costs.

This is ideal for people who have large domain portfolios like me. So if you have a large domain portfolio, check out my GoDaddy reseller account and know that it's the lowest price GoDaddy allows me to set it to.

I use 1and1 mainly due to free private domain registration.

I had been using Godaddy and Namepros for about two years. I think Namepros is much cheaper than Godaddy in most respects.
