Default Choose the best name

Choosing a popular yet simple domain name is not an easy task. Some people even pay to make a contest to decided. If your desired name is already taken, try to change the ".com" into ".net" or ".uk" and else.

I really wouldn't recommend settling with a .net or .org, or anything that conflicts with the URL of another site. Change perspective and find a pronouncable domain that might be a bit longer in length.

There are always things you should take into consideration when you are coming up with a name for a domain or website. You can either use your name in the site and make it very personal or you can come up with a business name to make it sound more professional. If you are thinking of perhaps selling the website on after a certain amount of time then the best idea is to use a professional business name rather than your own. I think you should come with it yourself. Personally, having a contest to find the best name takes away from the excitement of creating your own site.

Not only does it take the fun away, but if you post a list of domain names and ask people to tell you the best one then there is a huge chance your individual name will be bought by someone who can afford just to hold onto it for a few years and then sell it for 100x the amount they bought it for.

Think of something catchy or perhaps add - into it. For example
hemp-hellyeah.com
hhy.com (hemp, hell yeah)

h-hy.com

There are hundreds just use your brain and be creative.

if you are going to post a bunch to have people vote on, make sure you register them all before hand.

Whenever I try to register any .com name, mostly it is already taken as happens to many people. After .com domains I like the .info domains and they are cheaper among all the domains.

Short and sweet domain is necessary.People will remember your domain and will come back regularly. It is better to have domain name less that 13 characters.

In my opinion you should never ask other people to help you with your domain name because it has to be personal.Of course not all of us have imagination to find something funny for example but I think one should try at least to suggest the area of activity so that is can be easy to remember. Also it should not have many signs of punctuation ....

There are some great software products out there which can help you find available domain names. I use various domain software tools from Softnik.

A domain name can be any word, anything. Our imagination is the only limit. Just choose the short, nice and catchy name. Don't worry about keywords in choosing a domain name. Most popular domain names are not keyword-based names.
