Hey Guys,
Looking for some help here with regards to design an Amazon style site to sell second hand student books. My knowledge of web design is basic, i dabble with dream weaver and i have managed to get this far Dahark AS you can see there will be 4 linkable buttons leading to four sites catering to students different needs, now through my research i have discovered a niche in the market for second hand student books. People at my university want to be able to sell there books second hand quickly and pain free, i want to keep the site small for now so just open to those at my uni. But the hard part is making the actual site. a combination of ebay and Amazon market place. the revenue will come from commission upon a sale, so here's were if possible i would like some advice and help on, or even id be willing to pay someone to do it. The sites needs to enable users to create listings and set a price purchase, links to Amazon book covers also. Plus the usual feedback system etc, Payment options etc Legal issues, and disputes how are they resolved, and also legal jargon such as disclaimers on the site etc. the second site (button 2) very similar to the second hand books is for student accommodation where due to the immense traffic i hope to receive, landlords can list their property for a very minor fee Just to clarify the second hand student books site is not an auction site, the user dictates a fixed price. Anyway id be interested in hearing all your thoughts on the matter, and especially be interested from any designers willing to help me . Reagrds to all KIRK

These sites you mentioned, giant corporate sites with ungodly amounts of functionality, are as awesome as they are because they pay a LOT of money to create, add and maintain those sites. If you just want to sell things, use a shopping cart. Some of those are free and they're relatively easy to install. You can link it all to a secure paypal account and the whole thing will be free to set up. Just time consuming adding all the products to the cart. But worth that effort, especially if you already have established a niche. You can have the cart link to the "Student Books" button. And then put the "Shop for Books" link on every other page, making sure you never lose any traffic because they couldn't easily get back to the shopping link.

Thanks for your reply
I think due to my lots of ideas/really bad explanation you misunderstood what i am aiming to create with my site lol. Basically what i need is a site for users to upload and sell their books through my site, and for me to be able to take a small commission from each sale. Does that help at all? Regards to All
