There are many theories on this, but a 2% to 5% use of your keyword phrase is the general range. So for 500 words, 10 to 25 times.
I wouldn't worry too much about that though. I just try to use my keywords naturally & try to use related words and phrases along with them. |

Ya, don't worry too much about your density. But DO make sure you use your keyword in the title, and once or twice in the first paragraph. This will help Google to know what your page is about. However, as mentioned, make it natural.

You MUST use keywords in the title nd upper side of the page. The rest must come naturally, of course do not overdo it but they will come out eventually anyway because you have to relate to the keywords in your text.So don't worry about that, just be sure you mention the keyword up,up and up

There is no clear rule on how much of keywords should be used. The best thing is to have the keywords spread out across entire content. And don't go for words which have same meaning like that of the keywords as they may ruin your site.

Well that is good news. I have been stressing over how to fit all these keywords and keyword phrases in there so many times and try to keep it a smooth flowing article. So, I will try to focus more on natural flow and worry less about density. Thanks guys I really appreciate all this help!

At maximum , according to me, it should be 2% , other wise there is high probability that your article will be labeled as keyword spamming. So don't stuff your articles with keywords other wise you should be ready to face the penalty.
