Default Website verification service

Has anybody experienced better conversions by using a website verification service or by putting a website verifying "trust seal" on your website?
Using these services does this help visitors trust you more?
Is it worth the monthly or yearly cost?
example - Trust Guard , Verisign , Truste , BBBonline , etc , etc

These "trust" badges help a lot on conversion rates.

A big factor in convincing someone to buy from you is trust & credibility. These badges help immensely with this.

Every test I've done using these badges increased conversions rates. I can't remember ever testing these & it hurting conversion rates.

I used to manage a large online travel company and I did notice that many customers did put a lot of trust in such a logo. Lots of people would always ask us before we had that logo on our site: "How can we trust you with our credit card information?". Those questions almost disappeared after we put the logo on our site.

My brother got great traffic to his site but after implementing this, like suggested by billmcintosh, his conversion rates increased by a good margin. It was amazing to see how many peoples mind a simple badge could put at ease.

Yes, it works in helping conversions. Such verification stuffs are highly useful for sites which sells products especially the digital ones. Further it assures the buyer that their personal details are safe and secure without the need to worry about it.
