Does anybody have their site listed in the Yahoo Directory or DMOZ Directory?
If so how many visits do you average per month from these Directories? I know it depends on how many times your term is searched for. I'm not talking about the useless General Directories. The ones that are here today and gone tomorrow. That provide little to no traffic and that are discounted by Google. |

Even though these directories aren't bringing much direct traffic don't they give high quality back links that gives you more authority in the search engines that causes traffic that way?

Exactly why you should continue to build backlinks via directory submission and commenting on dofollow blogs.

I have some sites listed in Yahoo and DMOZ. Actually there is a quantum jump in traffic however there was a marginal improvement in traffic for a few months, however it came to the original position it once was.

I believe that getting listings in these directories are a trust signal to Google & will help you a lot with SEO. At the very least they are on topic authority backlinks.
They can bring traffic directly, but not a ton. In a nutshell: If you can get listings in these 2 directories; Go for it!
