Bill
I have a new website about 2 months old which is focussed on how to Travel India and what are the best tourist destinations in India. Travel India Guide and Travel India Tour I have started to market it. Now i have almost 50% unique content on my website. The rest of the technical things are copied. Right now i have market it with social media like twitter but would like to start with article marketing. Now i have questions regarding it. 1) Do i need to write a unique article in order to do article marketing or can i copy the content from my website (which is 50 % unique). 2) Also if i am submitting the article or the press releases to a lot of websites, do i need to change the content for each website. 3) If we go on Alexa.com and Type in URL of a wesbite, you will find the inbound links. Are those High Quality Backlinks? Can I copy those websites for my competition and put unique articles on those websites, blogs or forums. Will they be considered as High Quality BackLinks. I will be really happy if you can answer the above questions. I will be happy if you can give me some feedbacks for my website. Blog | Travel India Guide and Travel India Tour You can get some info about my website from the link below. Website SEO Tool | Website Grader Thanks Aman |

Hi Aman,
When doing article marketing, the more unique your article is, the more effective your marketing efforts are going to be. For 1), you'll want to write unique articles to submit, you don't want to copy any of the content off of your site to submit to article directories. The reason for this is you will see duplicate content penalties which affect your site and this can actually do more harm than good. You can take content on your site and rewrite it completely so it becomes unique and then submit that. Rewriting it so it's 50% unique might be enough, but if it were me, I'd make it completely unique. On 2), your marketing efforts will be more effective if you submit a unique article to each directory. That can be difficult, however, if you are submitting to a lot of directories. Ideally, yes, you would rewrite each article to be at least somewhat unique, but as a bare minimum, I'd recommend changing the title for each submission, utilizing keywords in the title. If you can also rewrite at least the first paragraph to make it unique, that would be good too. On 3), you'd have to look at each site to determine whether or not it is "high quality". But I can say this, if the site is on the same topic as yours and you can get a backlink on it, that is VERY good. I'd absolutely try and get links on the same sites my competitors are getting links from. |

Contextual link building or writing articles is a good way to boost and promote your site however, it is not advisable to submit articles already published in your site to article directories. Try to tweak some parts of the article and then submit them to directories.
