Default Focus on PPC

Is it possible to make decent money from a site where your main focus for traffic is using Google adWords?

I'm thinking about a scenario where you wouldn't be so interested in organic traffic, rather you would use ppc ads. If you get decent organic traffic of course that is good. But, if you have a good ppc system in place that converts and makes a profit, is this a doable strategy?

I would have to say ABSOLUTELY that is a doable strategy. With one of the sites I was running it was about 95% adwords and about 5% organic. It's just important that you constantly review your PPC statistics and make the necessary changes to improve the campaign.

I would agree heavily with louiseg. I have save up a few hundred dollars for advertising that I am going to be launching on one of my sites. The most important thing to have in place is a proper sales funnel.

With organic traffic it does not seem so critical because it's free. With PPC, you pay for every conversion lost! I'm tweaking and adjusting my funnel to be as optimal as I can get it before turning on the cash traffic.

My sales funnel will look something like this:

PPC -> Landing Page -> Opt-in -> 5 or 7 message auto responder

After the initial product, I will follow up with related products in the same matter to the list while providing good content. I read that a good ratio to go by is 1:6. That means 1 sales message for every 6 free content mailings.

AdWords, AdWords, AdWords until you know the site can convert and be profitable, all the while doing all your SEO and link building to keep the site moving up the SERPs. That's our tactic.
