Hi
I need to clarify on Article Marketing for SEO and link building. A lot of people say that duplicate articles are not of much help to SEO. Now the confusion i have is what is considered as duplicate. To explain more about the confusion, please see the following 2 examples- 1) Do they mean duplicate articles on one website Example: I wrote one unique article and posted it on Ezine Article today. After some days the same article was posted on Ezine Aritlcle again. OR 2) Duplicate articles on all websites. Example: I wrote one unique article and posted it on Ezine Articles. Then the same article was posted on Article-Base, Buzzle,Go articles Etc etc Now which one of the above OR both will be considered as duplicate article marketing strategy. Your comments will be appreciated. Thanks |

It means duplicate articles on multiple sites. See you will get the most PR backlink juice from a site like Ezine. Once its on there Ezine will not allow it to be published again on their site. Google also loves unique content. This being said many people still publish the same article all over the net on other article sites but google gives it little to no love so to speak after that. With the panda update from google its tough to say really if you have a duplicate article out there will you get any link juice from it like before or none at all. Maybe Bill might know a bit more about that.

Before answering your question, I just wanted to point out that posting articles to ezinearticles has become a waste of time since the Panda update. To give you an idea, we were posting articles to this article directory (as well as others) and were getting plenty of page views and clicks. Now, we get around 4 views a month if we get lucky
Now, in terms of duplicate articles, whether it's on the same site or different sites, the result will be the same and pretty useless. Google will grab one article that it will rank while the other duplicates will be relegated to their supplemental index, which means they will neither rank nor provide backlink juice. What you need to do is first spin your article so it gets at least 30% unique. Then I would recommend submitting it to services such as ArticeSamurai, UniqueArticleWizard or any network that includes both article and blog sites. You can also use blog networks like Linkvana or BuildMyRank, which allow to submit 100-150 words posts for backlinks. |
