What's up in here?

Not a single thread or question about Squeeze pages?

So either you're all masters at squeezing your prospects and getting their opt-ins... OR you don't know the power of this marketing tool.

Which is it

Hey to be honest I didn't know much about this but now I find that it is huge!I mean all of us allow others to use our e-mail address in order to send some adds and thus make money.Creating a Squeeze page is not difficult, especially if you will earn so much from it.
However I don't think there are many people willing to click in the box where it says that they will receive periodical e-mail from the respective site. if I receive an e-mail from somebody I don't know, and then see that it's some sort of commercial that bothers me once a day I unsubscribe because I never click on their links.
Other opinions?

If you are clear in your offer that you are going to send people information then you don't need a checkbox to email them.

Just send them email only related to the topic they signed up about. Also, don't just slam them with sales pitch after sales pitch with no decent or free content.

I believe squeeze pages are necessary for affillate marketing to help presell your ending sites offer. Also it is a way to start building a list for future customers.

I am torn on this simply because of all the sites out there that abuse it, I think it really makes it less valuable to those who don't abuse it.- Not saying it still doesn't work but I mean if I sign up wanting information and have to continuously delete sale pressuring emails the chances of me signing up or opting in through another site gets slimmer.

I'd like to make and use a video on my capture/squeeze page. I just don't want my video showing logos of ustream or youtube. How can I set it up so that I can use video on my squeeze/capture page without utilizing youtube or ustream or any other video sites format?

In response to markacarter1, I absolutely think that having a squeeze page even if you are just going to be an affiliate marketer is key to your success. I created an affiliate based site and I have a squeeze page, now if it wasn't for that page I would not have the almost 100k subscribers that I have now. I can tell you that having access to that many people who are in fact interested in what you have to say brings about sales.
