Smile Joomla vs. Wordpress?

I've been using Joomla for a while and I found that Bill is pushing wordpress. Currently, wordpress has advantage with url friendly but Joomla has more features (plugins and components). Both CMS are excellent but I like to know other people's recommandation. Elite members, please give me some feedback! Thanks.

I heard Joomla actually won some awards this weekend for CMS. But I still love WordPress. I have one blog so far on Wordpress Online Love & Breakup Advice

And now creating a Joomla blog for Debt Relief | Debt Advice | Get Out of Debt | Bankruptcy Alternatives So now I get to see the features in both.

What version of Joomla are you using? I have been using 1.5 since 1.5.0 thru now 1.5.11 and have only enabled the built in SEF URLs with apache mod turned on with good success.

If you are referring to joomla throwing in the numbers in the urls, example.com/1749-my-article-rocks/1495-especially-this-one.html, I have not seen any problem with google not liking them.

I agree with you on the addons, a year ago Joomla only had about 2200 extensions and very few for 1.5 as it was new. I just checked now: Serving 4510 extensions to the community.

I love the way wordpress looks and feels though. I just wish there was a plug-in to add a few 1000 products with datafeeds from affilite networks to build on online store quick that didnt require a subscription, at least last time I looked thats all I could find for wordpress anyways. But then again, Wordpress was made for blogging, not managing users/members, and all that good stuff.

Just my 2 cents,
Doc

Talking Re: Joomla vs. Wordpress?

I'm using joomla 1.5.10 and 11. It looks like 1.5.11 just release few weeks ago. I create few website with joomla and here are the site you can look over as follows,

1. iPhone.MyTiffani.Com - All blog entries (Asian iphone blog)
2. mytiffani.com - Welcome to the Frontpage (iphone blog - still working on it)
3. Home | Welcome to ConcertKorea.Com (my own Joomla testing site)

all websites created by joomla 1.5.9 to 1.5.11

I'm almost finishing learning joomla and then next step is finding the product to promote with Bill's method.

If any question, please let me know at allenclein@gmail.com .

Wordpress is very easy to use, even novice users and beginners. Joomla believes there is more frustration at the stage where you try to make any changes, and does not work, of course, when you learn to use it and to overcome their frustration is a great CMS. Wordpress can be used for much more than a blog (like a CMS) and is easy to change (like the categories are displayed, the display of content, etc.) a sense of HTML know-how and common.
