The Future of Mobile Advertising: New Google Releases and Predictions

Something is seriously going on in the mobile advertising universe. If you’re not paying attention, you might just lump it in with a million other products and services Google has promoted. But this is different. This past week Google released Click to Call service for Adwords. They also released Nexus One aka “the Google phone”. Google is marketing this product massively. Possibly more massively than any product or service they’ve ever marketed before.

Google’s new phone is being released via T-Mobile, but you can also go directly to Google and buy the phone straight from them. You don’t have to go to a T-Mobile store. They’ve bypassed the phone hardware and software companies and have taken on the whole project themselves.

Additionally and simultaneusly, Google purchased Admob for $75 million. What is Admob? AdMob is a Mobile Advertising platform. So what does all this let you know? Well, it SHOULD let you know that mobile advertising is clearly the future of advertising. Need more proof? How about this. At the same time, Apple purchased Quattro, Admob’s competitor, for $300 million.

As you can see, there’s a battle occurring in mobile advertising. Two tech giants spent over a billion $ in the past week to move into the mobile advertising arena. If you’re a business owner, this is something you should take a serious look at. How are you going to expand your own business this next year? My suggestion: take a lesson from Google and Apple. Get your business mobile. And quickly.
