Have actual customer reviews ever influenced you in your decision to go to a particular restaurant or store? Most likely your answer is yes. You want to know if actual people have been to the business before, used that ebay seller and had success, etc. So as a business owner, you can imagine how beneficial it would be for YOU to get positive reviews for your business, right?
Yelp is a great resource for both customers and businesses. It’s a local search website that you, the business owner, can create a profile on. Then members can review your site, even from their smartphones with Yelp’s apps. People search for local businesses on the internet and from their phones. So you’re going to want to have a big presence for local searches. When someone searches Las Vegas, NV for an Asian Fusion restaurant, wouldn’t you like knowing that YOUR Thai Fusion restaurant shows up instantly in that search? Of course you would!
Another great mobile app is Foursquare. It allows people to check in to whatever business they’re at, post comments or reviews, and automatically post their check in and comments on Twitter and/or Facebook. So the potential numbers of people who could see any single review are enormous.
