If there’s a service or product that will enable Google to find out more information about what people are doing online, Google will find it, buy it or just make their own version of it. And they’ve done it again.
Google has just rolled out their own URL shortening service called Goo.gl. It’s available with the Google Toolbar, and allows you from the toolbar to shorten any lengthy link so that it fits easily into a Twitter field or other social media application that might have character limits. There are already plenty of URL shorteners, so it’s not like you NEED Google’s but if you use the Google toolbar, it’s most likely the one you would use.
